The well of Saint Martin d'Orb

What happened to Saint Martin’s well?

The Napoleonic map of 1826 shows a “fountaine” at the foot of Saint Martin d’Orb’s Rue de la Calade.

One of the village’s oldest residents remembers that there was a communal well in front of, and possibly under, the still existing secadou (chestnut drying house). As he describes it, it was located in a small cave, possibly like the one depicted (Puit Pou de Neu in the Pyrenees).

Wouldn’t it be wonderful to have it uncovered and restored?
