It will be remembered for centuries to come that in the year 1745 and on the eleventh of October at two o'clock in the afternoon, there came on the river Orb such a great flood that it carried away all the mills, roads, meadows, fields and vineyards. Houses and many Canals and many people were drowned, leaving no trees along the shore, big or small. The river had become from the mountain called "La Varède" to le Bousquet de Grajau, and the weather was so angry that it thundered twenty-four hours without stopping resulting in the most terrible deluge with hail of a terrible size. The people were so touched that they came in tears to pray to God in church.
